Name:	Rob Newton
Biography:	Robert’s work is a direct response to his surroundings, exploring colour composition and expression. He draws upon his intuition as well as a time-honoured approach to painting landscapes and nature. Always seeking to depict some tangible form, the resulting works become abstract by nature, yet attempt to maintain the very traditions of a British landscape painting. Rob spends considerable time in preperation for each painting, taking numerous photogrpahs and notes before finaly setting brush to canvas. The notes Rob takes form an integral part of his approach to each individual piece, environmantal conditions are jotted down along with his feelings at the moment his eyes capture the image. When preparing the more astrat images he colates the photographs according to feeling and creates a colage which is then transfered to the canvas with his unique skill.
