Her canvases are characterised by a rich, warm, and welcoming palette that is easy on the eye, they invite contemplation and reflection. Ever rich in colour and harmonious in form they express a vitality rarely found. Her passion for experimentation with texture, colour and different mediums produce a unique finish the observer finds compelling. Her style portrays the people, places and objects that link her inextricably with her surroundings. Dalene was born in Sasolburg, South Africa in 1965 and moved to New Zealand in 1998, initially she studied under the prominent artist Theresa Oliver and at the University of South Africa. After much success in recent years with leading galleries, she is now gaining an international following with solo exhibitions planned this year in Europe and North America. Her work can be found in leading galleries, private and corporate collections and has been published successfully to popular acclaim.
