Helios Gisbert was born in Alcoy, Spain in 1958 and it is here that he began studying art at the well known Fine Arts School. Today he is considered one of the finest artists of his style, both by the general public and by critics. His work shows a deep and sincere love of landscapes and nature. He offers us canvases that show great sensitivity, full of a poetic air that surrounds and brings to life intelligible realities. This artist's work is striking because of its great realism and strength of his composition. He enjoys combining colour easily and vigorously, using fluid brushstrokes and clear, concise lines to calibrate its impact..., reflections in the water that perfectly mirror reality...,and images of the horizon that remind us of the infinite size and grandeur of the land in which we live... All these sentiments are brought to the forefront when we see his work that is full of life and intimate at the same time. The open spaces transform with his particular combination of light. Feelings rise up gently, with his mastery of drawing, brushstroke by brushstroke, and fill his work with harmony and serenity. This experienced painter has had more than one hundred individual exhibits throughout Spain and Portugal. His work can be found in the collection of the Autonomous Community Councils of Municipalities in both, Barcelona and Alicante. His name is also included in the Valencian Encyclopedia. His participation in competitions has been recognized with more than 38 prestigious awards.
