Born in 1962 to a working class Manchester family, Jackson grew up in a warm family surrounding with honest values. He gained few qualifications in his school days but held on to a great love of art. However, he was encouraged to learn a trade so became a Butcher. After a wide and varied career path he eventually pursued the artistic path and became a Graphic Designer. He was quickly gained access to the Commercial Art world where he remained, learning from mistakes and increasing in knowledge and experience for about 12 years. Meantime he was developing his illustration skills and learning different Medias until finally feeling confident to sell some of his paintings. For years he concentrated on perfecting his watercolour skills until finally experimenting in acrylic. Having had no formal training in art he learn't by his own mistakes, yet he would have it no other way as he feels that this is the best way of developing your own technique. Now he is married with two fabulous children and one grandson, who all keep his feet on the ground. In 1999 he moved to Somerset which was fabulous for his artistic inspiration, as he finds the colours and the local sounds of the country really help to free up his mind.
