b. 1953 Netherlands As a child, Ron Meilof was introduced to painting technique by his grandfather, in whose studio he spent a lot of time. Soon it turned out that he was very interested in wildlife and therefore frequently accompanied his grandfather on his walks through nature. Subsequently he improved in skills like brushing technique and colour mixing. He was obsessed by painting. In 1975 his great love for nature and country life made him decide to move to the province of Drenthe, in the north east of Holland. Inspired by the surrounding country-side, it's animal inhabitants. He painted high quality pieces admired by the public. At a later stage he became more and more involved in wildlife, which led him to countries in Africa like Kenya and Tanzania to study and photograph the animals.
