b.1943 Essex ~ UK He is a big outgoing popular man, which he modestly puts down to being born under the sign of Aries the Ram. He started painting for self satisfaction; his subjects were portraits, racing cars and dogs. By popular demand he turned professional and for many years has enjoyed a run-away success. An Evans is much more detailed and crisper in technique than his mentors work (Charles Lefar). Not only does Evans wield his palette knife with aplomb but he also adds fine subtle touches with a thin long haired sable. He generously loads his canvas with oil paint lavishly supplied with gusto, the canvasses groan under the weight of his impasto sculptured landscapes. His paintings are collected by many impressive figures including the Russian Ambassador in London and Her Royal Highness the Queen.
