Demsteader Mark

Mark Demsteader

Mark Demsteader was born in Manchester in 1963 and lives and works in Oldham. He studied at Rochdale College and the Slade. His awards include the Lyceum Prize and the Sydney Andrews Scholarship. Mark's work has developed from a fascination with the human form and an obsession with classical themes. These pre-occupations can be seen in recent paintings where his close observation combines with surface texture and carefully balanced compositions to create a beautiful and powerful representation of the figure. Mark Demsteader had been purchased by many important collectors and current demand for his work reflects his growing reputation. His recent exhibitions across the United Kingdom have served to establish him as one of today's outstanding talents. Mark won the Public Eye art prize at the Affordable Art Fair London Spring Collection 2003 and since then has been picked up by publishers in England and his images are set to be distributed throughout the world come the beginning of 2006. Price is ever increasing for Marks work and demand just keeps building, only four gallery's now deal in Marks originals for which we have sufficient demand, hence the continuing growth in price.
