Duquoc Jean

Jean Duquoc

Jean Duquoc was born in Nantes in 1937. His work is inspired by the rich symphony of colours and the simplicity of life found in the heart of Brittany. The emotional attachment he feels for masters such as Gauguin, Matisse, Van Gough and Vlaminck has influenced Jean to choose his colourful, symbolic, contemporary yet free style. Its Duquoc's creative spontaneity which allows the collector to affectionately view his works. One can almost gain a cultural insight and identity through his works simplicity. "By uniting Earth and Sky expressively he has managed to create Beauty in time. His approach should render men more contemplative, respectful and also more aware of their environment without being old fashioned. Jean Duquoc is no painter of the sensational, but of Emotional, that drives me to think authentic art goes further than ideas or anecdotes. His paintings are an open sea, a project hope and give a tone of reality to dreams. His creations play more with colour than time, it is an emotional voyage."
