b.1955 Glasgow ~ Scotland John attended Glasgow School of Art as a pupil of John Cunningham, having made a strong impression on his teachers from quite an early childhood. At the Glasgow School of Art he concentrated on learning the basics and his exciting individuality did not explode until he had shaken off the trammels of formal education. When his individuality did emerge it did so in a riot of line, colour and personal expression. He worked for two years in the U.S.A. for an art agent who was, indeed, a taskmaster who had 'headhunted' John while he was still at college in Glasgow. John's work is now widely collected across the UK and much of Europe.
