The creative universe of Sgarbossa takes its inspiration from a deep and careful observation of reality, and at the same time from a refined realism, that induces him to transfer in his paintings an intense emotional background. His work captures both the striking architecture of his native country; classic style colonnades, arches and steps, and an intense and almost theatrical play on the human form through the use of movement and props. Born in Italy, 1945 he fell instantly in love with painting, something his parents encouraged from a young age. In 1971 he moved to Switzerland where he worked with a number of artists on his portraiture and figurative style. By 1977 he had returned to his native country where he continues to work. Tallantyre introduced the work of Sgarbossa in 2007/8 where he was met with great enthusiasm and an instant collector base.
